Silver and Two Bronze Today for Canada at Rowing World Cup
The Canadian Lightweight Men's double also rowed to a bronze this morning on the Rotsee rowing course. [...] Doug Vandor of Dewittville, Que. and Cam Sylvester of Caledon, ON, didn't notice the late German push, but stayed composed at the finish. "We were just trying to stay focused and internal," said Sylvester. "Obviously, it is more competitive here (than at the first World Cup in Bled where they won gold), but we expected that."

LIGHTWEIGHT MEN'S SINGLE SCULLS (LM1x) - Finals
After rowing with absolute control in this morning's semi-final, there was no doubt that Zac Purchase of Great Britain was the man to beat. This evening Purchase donned an extra layer of clothes and rowed in style over the Lake Bled 2000m course. Purchase is the Olympic Champion from the Lightweight double and is in the single waiting for his Olympic partner, Mark Hunter, to recover from an injury. Purchase got out to an open water lead early on in the piece leaving the rest of the field to race for second.
LIGHTWEIGHT MEN'S DOUBLE SCULLS (LM2x) - Final
Is this the year of the Canadian double? Douglas Vandor and Cameron Sylvester have been together since the 2008 Olympics, but illness going into the Olympic final put the duo into last in the B Final. They are back and aiming for London 2012 with a new vigour. Today the Canadian duo took off at the start with this vigour leaving the rest of the field to fight it out for second.
